You only need one hose for gray/black water. I always dump and flush black water first, then dump and flush the gray water. We're very careful that NO food ever goes down the gray water tank from the kitchen sink, so it stays very clean. Once that's flushed, the hose is as clean as it's going to get. Mine stores in my rear bumper.

At the camp water hookup, I attach a Y, and use one side, with regulator, for my white fresh water hose. The other side is a short piece of green hose with nozzle, that I use both for back-flushing tanks using a FlushKing, and also for odds and ends water wash-up needs. After I drain the tanks, i.e. black first, then gray, and I've done all the washing, backflushing, and rinsing that I'm going to do, I then disconnect the sewer hose from the TT, where the dump valves are now closed. I hold the hose up in the air, and use the green water hose to squirt down inside of the sewer hose (without touching it), for a final rinse. Once the "slinky" is removed, collapsed, and stowed away, I use the green hose again to wash the in-sewer elbow one more time, and wash away any drippage at the sewer inlet or under the TT dump outlet.
Sewer hose goes in rear bumper, with large wire "hairpins" made of clothes hanger wire through holes in the rubber plug and the metal bumper. I've lost one cap, and almost lost a hose, before I did this.

I stopped doing that because I always seem to manage splashing myself somehow.
Good call on the splitter, I bought a good brass one and leave my pressure reducer hooked up to one side. There's nothing sanitary about cleaning the tanks out no matter how you do it, I keep a box of disposable gloves in the front storage.

I use the sterilite tubs, thin, have rollers on bottom. Color code tape on outside: Blue for Fresh water, Black for sewer connections. You can reach in for little things. Full dump, pull box out on ground. Easy out, easy to repackage. Through 'em back up in basement. On my way. I have small rubber maid tub for fittings, BF, extra washers, etc. this can set out or fits in blue tub. I have factory original in the 4" tube that hangs by spare tire. This is emergency backup hose.

I make my wife do it while I do the manly stuff like air up tires.

I mounted a section of PVC pipe under the camper to store the hose in. Holds two full length Rhino hoses. Fittings all stay on and drilled holes in the pipe for any drainage and venting. (pics are rotated 90 degrees)

What kind of strapping did you use to attach the PVC pipe to the frame? Installed the pipe with strapping that has holes every two inches (looks like the kind they use when putting up brickwork onto cinder block. Straps gave way on the way home from Florida and lost tubing and my sewer line.

I used the same strapping you are talking about. Has been on since the spring of 2014 and no issues - even on Michigan roads. Is it possible you had a little slack that let it swing/wiggle a little bit and weaken it? No slack on mine at all.
