Noisy water pump and surging when plugged into 110V

We have been having issues with our water pump. It makes a heck of a racket, the cold water surges in the kitchen and when you run the bathroom taps the entire shower stall vibrates. The pump runs fine if we run off the battery (which we never do) Could it be the converter? Too much power perhaps coming into the trailer? Thanks for any assistance!

Check the voltage at the pump when on converter but if you don't experience other problems with 12 volt appliances it sounds more like a pump problem.


Surging with a demand pump comes from air in the intake side or obstructions on the output side.

Check to make sure that the water lines coming out of the pump are not rubbing against any framing. Also, check to see if they put the 360 hose loop coming out of the pump.

We installed a foam mat under our pump and
had to isolate it from some metal framing. We did end up getting a new pump which, along with the other two remedies, fixed the noise and surging. Also, make sure that the filter on the pump is not filled with construction debris and that all hosing is tight and not sucking air.
