How to replace faucet in shower?

I have a 2011 Voltage 3905 and I have a leak somewhere inside the faucet assembly of my shower. When I turn the water on I can see water coming out from beneath the center cover between the hot and cold faucet handles. It does not leak when it's turned off.... Thankfully.

I've been told that for me to replace the faucet assembly I need to access it from the rear, which I have no idea how to accomplish. There is no way to get behind the unit that I can see.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I have that exact same problem on my 3950, the shower mix box is leaking from behind the cover. When it was at the stealership last week I was going to have them replace it under warranty, however they didn't have the right color to match. They have it on order and should be shipping it to my house along with a few other PDI parts Dutchmen messed up on when they were shipped to the dealer.

Edit: First question from the service manager, when I advised of this new issue post PDI was (Did we winterize the unit?) Of course my answer was yes, as I knew for a fact there was antifreeze in the shower controls.

As for replacing it, you should have an access cover (Screw type, big circle) just above the shower controls, this is the access panel to get to all the plumbing for the shower controls from behind.

Search these forums about replacing the screws in the shower to stainless, for a picture of the access panel.

No access panel

Thanks for the reply. Sadly there is no access panel in my shower, which makes me wonder how they even installed it in the first place.

No I don't. Called Dutchman and they told me that for my year RV they never installed an access door. So the fix is to cut a hole in the wall. Pretty nice huh? I'm less than enthused.

Ouch sorry to hear that, and what a boneheaded move by Dutchmen. There has to be a way to replace yours as they had to install it in the first place. Sorry I can't be of more help I haven't actually taken mine apart yet as I'm still waiting on the replacement parts.

I believe you can order and install the access door. Just very careful when you cut the round hole that you don't saw into the water supply lines. Maybe make a very small hole so you can see what you are doing then enlarge it and install the access door.

Here's the critter you need. A big ole hole saw will do it, much better than a scroll saw.

If you are going to cut a hole I would use a Roto-Zip with the circle cutter
Cut-Off Wheels

The circle cutter would work in most cases but I don't think there will be enough room to cut a full circle as he will want to be close to the mixer valve.

thanks for the link to the part that needs to be installed. I talked with CW about this when I took it in for the myriad of warranty work and they told me sorry as it wasn't installed at the factory, same thing they told me about the remote for the slideouts. odd as I thought I saw other 2012s with the cutout in the shower, that cutout saved me when I had a leak in my Cyclone....typical BS from Dutchment.
