I am new to travel trailers. Hoping to get much needed help as the dealer does not have the answer to my problem. The fridge is supposed to run off electricity or propane. I have had the trailer since Feb and have yet to figure why it wont run off electricity. I can only get it to run off propane. There is a switch on fridge for gas, on (for elec) and auto for the unit to choose with electric being the default. I have just been buying the propane but now am having issues with propane. UGH! help!!

Open the outside access to the water heater. Look for a small rocker switch with a little locking pin in it. The keeps the switch from turning on. You need to remove the pin and turn it on and then on the inside power panel you need to turn on the switch for electric hot water.

As a side note, I have tried both ways out of curiosity and the water heats way faster on gas it seems.

Welcome to RVing RJElkins. First let me tell you that we have stayed a few times in your town - at an RV park just west of Beaumont off of I10. I don't know if I can help, but the fridge is usually plugged in to a 10-volt outlet somewhere inside the exterior service access panel for the fridge. Have you checked to make sure it is properly plugged in? The fact that your fridge works on gas and that the controls are working tells me your 12-volt connections are OK .... so just look for a problem with 110-volt connections. If not the plug, are all your circuit breakers OK? Good luck.

x2 - check your breakers if not remove the outside fridge vent to make sure that the refrigerator is plugged in....

X2 on the plug and breaker.

As to the problem with the propane, you can get an "airlock" in the line. If this happens, you have to go through the reset procedure.

This is the procedure for a Norcold; Turn off the fridge, remove the 12v fuse, open the outside access panel, flip the rocker switch, leave it off for about 5 seconds, turn it back on, replace fuse, turn the fridge back on.

You may have to go through the reset procedure 2 or 3 tomes before it will fire up.

If this all fails then I would suspect the control board and if you are still under warranty, your dealer should be working to get you a new fridge.
