City water hook up leaking

Happy thanksgiving everyone. I am currently dry camping and using my fresh water tank. I’m experiencing an issue when I turn on the water pump to use the water from my fresh water tank. I’ll get the build up of pressure, be able to use the water but my city water hook up is leaking. I’ve checked to see about any kind of valve that needs to be shut for bypass but I’ve had no luck. I’m at a loss here. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to have this process of using my water pump run successfully? Preferably without any leakage? Thanks

The city connection should have a screen filter over the hole… and behind that screen is a spring-loaded 1-way check valve (in). Chances are it’s simply stuck open. It happens occasionally.

Remove the screen, and just push the spring plunger in a few times with your finger to exercise the spring… put it back together, and you should be good to go.

Of course, if it still leaks after that… the valve may need replacing. Either the o-ring has deteriorated, or the valve itself.

Here’s a link for the replacement, if needed:
