Suburban Water Heater 12v Question

Hello Everyone,
im stuck, sure hope someone can help.
got a '07 grand junction 37QSL. It has a Suburban SW12DE water heater in it.
the electric 120v works fine but no 12v on the gas side. i used a tone generator and found the blue and red wires behind the control panel not hooked up to
anything. The KIB Monitor Panel Model M25VWL has 12v to the htr switch but obviously nothing happens when you turn it on.. coming off the htr switch is a gray wire.. what goes where ?
do i just need to hook up the red and blue wires to the KIB Switch?

thanks

Did it ever work on gas?
You must first determine if the blue and red wires go to the heater.
Are there blue and red wires on the heater control board?
If so, unplug them and measure the resistance between the two wires. It should be very high if it is the same wires in the control panel. To be sure, short the two wires together in the control panel and measure the resistance again. It should now be near zero ohms.
If the wires are the same, I would feel comfortable hooking them up if the heater has NEVER worked. Otherwise, more troubleshooting needed.

hi handyman..
who ever worked on this coached last time may have accidently pulled the wire(s) because they were not hooked to anything when i found them
i used a tone generator and then just to be sure, a multi meter set on continuity to verify
that i was holding the correct blue and red wire from the water heater..
and according to the control board on the water heater, the red is pwr and the blue is to ??

Update: i just got a call back from KIB Control Panel customer service.. without going to deep he basically said the 20ga gray wire on the heater switch goes to the water heater, he would not say the blue or red.

so im thinking the gray switch wire is to the blue and then the red is to a hot 12v source ??
whaddaya think ??
