Slide issue

Have controller code of 6 red led blinks bad motor or wiring issue.

Shows number 1 motor. Called Dutchmen to see which motor is number 1. The very smart assed person said they wouldn't have that information. Looking from inside the coach at the living room slide does anyone know which motor is number 1 and 2

Thanks. Bill

Sort of intermittent. I can only assume that is number 1 motor. Looking at LR slide from inside it is on the right.

Sometimes I can cycle slide in and out no code. Two times motor didn't fire to retract. Did reset at controller it retracted

I was thinking so sort of is a blue jay blue. Thinking about doing a continuity check. It is the large slide and my unit is a 2014 do you think it would be the hi torque 500 to 1 motor?

With freakin' Dutchmen there is no telling until you can get to the motor and actually get the numbers off of it. I have seen one unit that was having slide issues that had two different motors installed on it... small wonder it didn't work properly.

As far as continuity, you might be able to check. From what I have seen loose wires are the norm along with un-crimped connectors. If you get to the connectors I would check for moisture or corrosion and add some dielectric grease to keep them cleaned up.

Slide issue

Very dry where we live. Have used our unit a bunch with tons of in and out cycles. On the controller side everything looks very clean nice. About to pull wiring and motor and try and complete continuity check back to controller. More than likely I would guess a motor going south

I had to replace a motor on my big slide on my 2014 and it was a 500-1 hi torque- part number 287298. The newer motors have a strain relief where the wires go in under the motor cap. The old motor had a broken wire, I popped the plastic cap off where the wires enter the motor body and found each wire is soldered to a circuit board. This was after I installed the new motor so I just resoldered the wire back on and will keep it as a spare.

Trying to get motor out and frozen in the drive. Just added some bolt off and have gotten some vertical movement. Yes I have removed outside retention bolt. Not sure just how the wires enter motor body

The motor wires are just stubbed out with a four position Molex connection.
The motor may be hitting the top of the slide keeping you from lifting it all the way out. I had to pry one of mine out for some reason.

The wires go into a plastic connector that you pull apart mine was to the inside of the room I pulled some trim off and a bulb seal, to get to it. There are 5 small color coded wires. They extend out of the motor about 6 inches. The gears may have pressure on them, you might try jarring the slide a little to free up the motor or use a flat blade screw driver inserted into the middle track gear and pry the gear one way or the other.

Wow have jogged slide back and forth have gotten some movement. After about 1 1/2 hours going in and having a theraputic brandy. Soak the gear area with bolt release. Things will look better tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's input!!![emoji483]

Might also add I got on a ladder on the outside and used a screwdriver to pop the motor up, had to whack it pretty good. Then reached in on the inside to pull motor up and out.

If your slide is all the way out then it'll have to come out from the outside but should be able to fish that connector out and unplug it. Or you can still get the motor out and then unplug it. You might try unplugging the motor down on the controller if you haven't already, I think that is supposed to release the motor brake.

It's on the inside and the slide is about a third of the way out. The dam motor is frozen but little by little it seems to be getting looser. As am I thank god for Christian brothers!!!

Lube the motor with Bolt Release and the brain with Christian Brothers? Works for me! I will put that in my maintenance notes to try if I ever have a slide issue.

Did you remove the screw that keeps the motor from popping up?
