Red face Need help to reinstall battery

We own a 2013 Kodiak 200QB travel trailer. My husband disconnected our battery for winter storage. I need to reinstall it. I have a red battery cable and a black battery cable. Which cable is positive and which is negative? Thank you in advance for advice!

The red cable will be positive and will have the larger end terminal. You'll want to connect it first and then the negative cable.

We hope....

Follow the cables and see where they go. Typically the black is the ground and it will travel a short distance and be fastened to the frame of the trailer. The red typically will be the positive and will go to a fuse block or circuit breaker, some times right on the frame near the battery box, but there will be a line coming out of it going towards the converter.

Please be careful when using a wrench or screwdriver around the battery terminals. If the wrench contacts both battery terminals or even the positive terminal and a live ground you could be seriously burned. Batteries put out a lot of current which translates to heat in a hurry. I suggest you wear some thick gloves when handling batteries.

Success!
I did get under the trailer and trace the wires - the black wire was connected to the trailer frame and the red went in and out of a small box that was also in the vicinity and on the frame. I was very careful while hooking everything up.
Thanks again for everyone's help - there's a lot of (confusing and contradictory) information to be found on the Internet!
