motorcycle Battery chargers used on RV Deep Cycle Batteries

Well it's Winter time and the two Deep Cycle Batteries are in the Garage hooked up to one Motorcycle .75amp Cen-Tech Battery Maintainer & float charger.
When I bought my Harley-Davidson it had a extra Charger.
The Harley is hooked up to a Battery tender .75amp Charger.
Has anyone else used a Motorcycle .75amp Charger for their RV Deep Cycle Batteries?

This $40 charger seems to be working very nicely.
When I connected Both (2) batteries up the charger was blinking Green
Nearly Charged for 4 hours, Then the Charger changed to Solid Green that is monitoring Charged Batteries at 13.35 Volts.
I plan to un hook for a month And then hook back up, it really is not Too much work to loosen the two nuts.
I feel Comfort in the fact that they are Ready full charged for any Emergency use.

Two different battery exchanges instructed me to correctly fill with distilled water and leave the tender on with the caps off.

Battery chargers of all types use different charging profiles. Trickle chargers, battery maintainers, battery equalizers are all battery chargers.

Cheap ones from the old days were essentially unregulated and could charge at 15 volts. These could cause flooded cells to appear to boil. Never leave these types of chargers unattended or connected for more than a couple of hours. Cheap trickle chargers can still do this today.

Taking caps off may reduce spitting. Check water level and refill regularly. After a while with this charging profile, significant grid corrosion can occur.

A better way is to get a higher quality product. 13.2 volts is ideal for connected storage of lead acid batteries. Measure the voltage with charger attached and running.

More than 14.4 volts is too much. High water consumption will occur. Spitting is likely. 13.6 is a little high for some AGM batteries.

Terminal voltage may settle at 13.2 volts. That is the best. However, it may take a while to settle. Some chargers go through multiple stages before going to storage condition.

Voltage may stay low for a while if a small capacity charger is connected to a discharged high capacity battery. If voltage does not raise to at least 12.7 volts in a couple of days, the charger is too small. It would be better to fully charge for 14 to 18 hours with a high capacity charger before attaching the small maintainer.

Check voltage periodically until you are sure it is holding 13.2 volts. Monitor water level until you get a feel for how much is being consumed. Fully recharge before voltage drops below 12.4 volts.
