Lock for my surge protector

So there I was looking online at the many places to buy a cable lock to secure my surge protector to the power pedestal. It dawned on me that I had a ton of gun locks and they fit the bill just right. Worked out awesome!

Good idea, I use one for my LP bottle, I got a free lock box with my surger when I bought it, it uses a padlock and goes over the area that the RV plug
joins the plug at end of the suppressor. I rarely use it, or the LP lock as I do not worry about thieves stealing my stuff, (never has yet) but still have them on hand if I feel a need.

I don't really think mine would get stolen either. But, it's still a $230 investment I don't want walking off. That said, most of the parks I've been to in this area (Memphis/Jackson/Shiloh) nobody uses them to begin with, so people might not even know what it is. That's a good idea on your propane bottles. I'll have to look on my RV and see if I can do the same! -Frosty

Another thing to do is cover the LCD panel so the light isn't shining bright, that way it may not catch someone's attention.

I have been camping for over 45 years and have only had something stolen once. We were fly fishing up the Nantahala river and were waaaay back up in the mountains. We had set up camp a bit back from the edge of the river and decided to try our luck quick before dinner. They were biting, wandered a bit further upstream that we had planned. Got back to camp and it was obvious someone had gone through our stuff and relieved us of a few things. Other than that, I have never had a problem and I have stayed some pretty shady places.
