Called WFCO about batteries...

My original battery is toast and wanted to replace with an AGM battery since I leave mine in year round. I also stay plugged into shore power year round so I don't need any crazy output specs. He said that my model converter (8955) would be fine to charge any AGM battery. They do not recommend gel type batteries.

So it looks like I can get a smaller/lighter AGM battery with better specs than the original had for about the same money.

Won't be the same money but did you look into Lithium?

Yeah, lithium is between$650-800, they can keep it. I doubt one will outlast 5+ AGM batteries.

I use a battery tender when my Voltage is not in use, that way im not wearing out my converter etc. I turn off my disconnect and disconnect the battery lead to the generator, just my 2cents worth...

The humidity is so high here I have to run a dehumidifier probably 10 months out of the year, so it has to be plugged into shore power constantly. If that wasn't the case, I would pull the battery after winterizing and keep it in the garage.
