Black Bat Wing Antenna

Our new Triton has a black batwing looking antenna. Is it supposed to be standing up off the roof 10-12" all the time? Or is is retractable? Have not found anywhere inside that would retract it. Will get a picture tonight when I get home for better visual.

Pics

Here are some pics I had on my phone already. It just really seems to floppy to be riding up off the roof like it is. The 20-30 mph winds we have had here lately show that off for sure.

The Jack antenna is fixed and does not retract, it only rotates.

It's difficult to tell from the pics, but that one doesn't look like a Jack to me.

Aaron,

King is the company that makes the Jack Anttena.

Sure looks like a Jack to me. Looks like the front is facing away from the camera, so your looking at it from the backend.

Just looks too wide to be a Jack

It does look wider than a Jack. The More I look at the pics the stranger it looks, I can see a Jack with a Wingman stuck on it. Maybe a couple of shots of whiskey will make it clearer.

A picture of the rotation knob would help.

Better Pics

Here are some better pics. No way to raise and lower, and has the wings like the Winegard, but with out the side piece. From the looks of it, it will last a little while!

Will see how it goes. I can say it does not pic up good without the booster turned on. Our house is about 30 miles from the major news towers, and it is blotchy with out it. Turn the booster on, and BAM, it is nice a clear!

I am with hddecker, couple glasses of my favorite Texas Whiskey and all will be clear!

The guy's are correct it's not a Jack. The wing looks like the Winegard, but I didn't see your antenna on the Winegard site. I wonder if they have up dated the Sensar anttena.

Winegard Sensar RV TV Antenna

You do need the booster turned on to get a good signal. You are getting close to the maximum range for the Sensar 3 and 4.

I found that the Jack gave me a better picture than the old crankup Wingard that I replaced.

Hope to have my ladder in and installed soon, so I can actually get up on the roof and double check it. Have a hard time leaning a wood extension ladder up against a brand new unit!

Thank you all for the help and assistance. Now to my Texas Whiskey!

Try Rebecca Creek if you are every in Texas and looking for something to warm the soul!

Was your camper prepped for a ladder? It's rather uncommon for a camper to leave the factory without a ladder if it has had the ladder anchor points installed.

I tried using the ladder on my trailer a few times and didn't feel like doing the "rock climb" to get on the roof for maintenance. I do find the camper ladder a good place to store my small articulating ladder though.

What kind of a whiskey is Rebbeca Creek? I do like my Bourbon, don't mind a rye with some corn in the grain bill, Demarra Rum on occassion. But I'm not a Rye Whiskey fan.

Sounds like I need to do a little more research on your Rebbeca Creek. Looks like is at least 2 maybe 4 bottle research project.

I meant Winegard... long day, short on sleep. King used to make another style of antenna before they came out with the Jack, just don't remember what it was called.

Going to be in Texas next week for a couple of days, I will look for some Rebecca Creek. If you are in NC or like Single Malts give Defiant a try. It is available in other places too. Interesting stuff.

So many whiskys and so little time. I can definately see a conflict here, NASCAR or whisky.

Gave up on NASCAR years ago. I used to date David Pearson's niece, we would be in the pits at most east cost races. Can't do that anymore. My wife's cousin was JD McDuffie. It has changed too much for me. Last season that I watched every race was the year Dale was killed.

Whiskey for the win!

I know what you mean, NASCAR is becoming the WWF of racing. Seems like every week they are fiddling with some thing.

My interest in todays NASCAR is fading, but I like the history and do want to see as many of the old short tracks where NASCAR cut it's teeth, that are still around.

So I finally figured out the brand on the antenna, it is a Continu 2500B. Nothing high dollar for sure, will see how long it lasts. With the daily 40-50 mph wind gusts we have been having, it sure does wiggle around. Will see how it holds up.
