Amp L Start for Generator Battery

Howdy all,

I searched and didn't see any posts about it. I dry camp at road race tracks and use the generator most of the time. At night my batteries would die and I ran into issues.

When I picked up my 3200, it came with two batteries from the dealer. They wired it up so the disco switch didn't work, weird, but whatever. They also put one really nice Deka battery and one no name battery in it. Well after they died off rather quickly I discovered the mismatch. I replaced them with two deep cycles from Sam's club. Energizer brand (maybe Deka?).

Before I did that though I installed a third battery to start just the generator with an Amp L Start charger for it. Those are well priced and ensure that the generator would be able to start no mater what abuse the house batteries got. After I disconnected the generator from the house batteries, that allowed the disco switch to start working since their wasn't a parallel circuit in the way anymore. This mod is great though if you dry camp a lot and want to make sure you don't have to jump start your generator all the time.
