I have a fuse that immediately pops, the moment I put it in. This fuse controls about half of the interior lights. The stock radio/stereo recently blew out and I removed it. Is that why I have a short in that line now? Has anyone else had this problem?
Removal of audio/video equipment does not usually cause a fuse to blow. Shorting the positive and negative power wires usually does blow a fuse.
I have not had this problem.
Hopefull. If you cap off the wires that should solve your problem. Did you cut wires or just unplug a connector? If you unplugged a connector you should be fine.
A short maybe the reason your old stereo went out. You need to trace the wires for the stereo to make sure they didn’t put a staple through them. You can use a meter to check the continuity. If there is a short, you will just blow the new stereo too.
