What do you use for an RV Mat?

Wasn't sure specifically where to put this, so I thought Off-Topic wouldn't hurt.

Wife and I just bought our trailer recently, and are looking for an outdoor mat to lay down under the awning for when we camp in dirtier areas. I was originally thinking of just getting some astro turf and putting grommets on it so I could stake it down and not have to worry about wind blowing it away, but I've seen all these RV Mats on the market made of materials that are supposed to allow water and sand through them better keeping them cleaner.

Anyways, I'm thinking something like 9ft x 20ft or something like that would be a good size, but they get expensive quick. Just wondering what others are using??

If you could include links to where to buy them, that would also be helpful. Thanks!

Bought mine in Quartzsite at the big January gathering they have every year. Camping World has them as just about any RV supply store. Amazon & ebay also have them

What we use depends on where we are staying. When we stay in FL, and have sand around the RV, we use the heavy duty black mat that you can get by the foot at larger nurseries and garden supply stores. They tack it down at the local nursery, and drive fork lifts over it. Water passes through, dirt does not. It's light weight, and I believe it comes in 6' and 12' widths. It's cheap enough that we bought a bunch of it, and it holds up pretty well.

When we are in Maine and camping on grass and rocks, we use cheap grass carpet under the awning. Makes it more comfortable for the dog to lay on.

We also have a mat with a pattern that we put down on top of the other mats. It looks better, and adds a bit of color.

I bought two of these. Two cover the entire length of the trailer.

I found a 9x12 ft one at costco last year. They had them again this year for $48.

I used to have one of the woven polypropylene ones until I saw how easily it burned. Had a campfire catch some grass and the mat went up quick. I switched to the carpet mats in about a 6x10 size. Wont burn nearly as easy, easier to manage/handle and quicker to put away.

We used a couple of these which are great. The dirt and sand go thru it and keep things relatively clean. Not cheap though.

I already have a large mat I bought at my local RV store. It's nice. However, I'd like to find a small mat for the bottom of the stairs that will knock off dirt and rocks. Has anybody found something that works good to knock small rocks and dirt of shoes?
