I recently purchased a Garmin RV 760LMT. This model is designed for RV travelers. I will be trying out for the first time tomorrow.

I am only 10'-6" so I don't worry too much. I do try to follow truck routes when traveling through unfamiliar towns. I also use my Park Advisor app when routing to a specific campground, it shows low clearance bridges. It is also available for you fruit lovers.

I like my 5" Rand McNally GPS sold as the Good Sam model. It integrates with GS trip planning, allows you to select whether auto or RV, and it knows all the campsites. However, this model was dropped, and now they only sell the 7" model. Also Good Sam and Camping World are offering different manufacturers. Without all the GS bells and whistles. Looks like change is in the works. Do your homework, or you might end up with an outdated, unsupported model.

Since I posted the above comment, I found out more. Camping World doesn't sell a Good Sam GPS at all anymore. They have a Magellan with poor reviews that does have the GS directory, and for that matter, so does Rand McNally on their website. But neither offers integration with the GS Trip Planner which to many is the #1 reason for buying a system that integrates. It's pleasurable to plan a trip on a desktop, look at alternate routes, check out campsites along the way, and schedule your overnight stops. The GS Trip Planner does it all! However, soon we'll have to print it out, and load each destination into the GPS. Meanwhile, GS (and KOA) are offering IPhone and Android versions of their own site finders. I don't like using my phone for GPS, it goofs me up when a call comes in just as I'm getting close to a decision point or turn. Good luck!

My first impressions of the Garmin RV760 are good. In RV mode it shows you which gas stations are RV friendly. Worked well for us on our trip yesterday.
