Water heater question

Hey everyone, im trying to de winterize a camper I just bought (first timer) and want to make sure I have the valves right before kicking on the water heater. The valve on the vertical was closed when I opened the panel. Previous owner didn't use antifreeze - just blew out the lines somehow with air.

Does this look right? See attached photo. Cold water (because I haven't kicked the heater on) comes out the hot faucet.

Thanks for any advice! Just don't want to mess anything up by running the water heater if it's dry in there.

No
I dont think so. Hard to see in your pic. The centre valve should be closed....crossway to the white and red pex pipe. That is the bypass. You want full cold water into the heater. Full hot out of the heater
It appears your bypass is still open which means your cold will be mixing with your hot as it exits the heater.

Further to winterize.....that centre bypass valve is opened....the way it appears in the picture. The cold in and the hot out are closed. This saves filling the heater with 5 gallons of antifreeze. The water is drained thru the plug or anode tube...which ever you have in your heater.. Hope this helps and clarifys things.

Make sure to fill your hot water heater before turning on electtic or propane. Open hot water taps to let air escape the tank and lines as the water is going into the tank...

In the picture all the valves are open. The one on the cross over pipe needs to be closed for everything to work properly. To winterize you would close the other two and open the cross over.
