VOLTAGE - Exterior Range Hood Vent Replacement

Just curious if any of you Voltage owners have had to replace your exterior range vent yet... and if so, what size did you get?

Mine has become badly discolored... and yeah, I admit it, a little filthy. So I’m gonna replace it.

But, it seems they come in 2 sizes... one with a ⅝” collar, or a 1 ¾” collar. Would be nice to know which one to order without having to climb up, remove the old one, measure, replace, and then order... only to have to do it again when the new part arrives.

Anybody got a clue?

I can't answer the question, but replace it with a black one

Can't you lift the flap inside of the cover and get a measurement?

Mine has a metal plenum that comes out to within 3/4" of the outside wall, so there's no way to measure (vent goes over it), but it's definitely deeper than 5/8", go for the deeper one.

Yep, the depth makes sense.

Yeah, definitely... I'd already panned on that.

That's an idea...just depends if I can get an angle to do it with my limited mobility.

Makes sense. I mean, I already knew the wall itself was just under 2" thick... so my first thought was that the shorter one probably wasn't what what is required. And, like most anything else... if you get the larger one, you can always cut it down with a Dremel if necessary.

Like I said.. I was just wondering if anyone, especially a Voltage owner, had already replaced theirs due to breakage or something.

I'm certain Voltages don't come with thicker walls than the other campers do. And Voltage owners are all rich and have everything done for them.

Ha.. yeah, well true in re the first part, but I figure most Voltages require either the same or very similar parts.

As to the 2nd... well, not all of us.

Hi
I have replaced them on all 4 previous 5'ers, they have all been the same, thickness of the wall, but I will say this, none were of your model, two were Montana's, 1 was a Cougar, & one was a Dutchmen Grand Junction. For what it's worth, if you purchase "Totally Awesome" spray cleaner at one of the Dollar stores that carry it, [about$1.60/quart] it will take the yellow right off any yellowed plastic that you have, I have been using it for years without incident. I also use it on stubborn stains on our home's white vinyl siding from certain plants !
