Voltage bed platform too narrow

Wife has been complaining that her side of the bed doesn't have the proper support from the underlying plywood sheet and she feels like she will roll out of bed. I checked it out and sure enough, her side didn't have enough support. My side was fine but her's was shorted.

The queen mattress is 60 inches wide but the plywood under it is only 52 inches wide. Rather than have my trailer sit at the dealer for the next two months, I bought a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood and put in a wider sheet, 58 inches, and increase of 6 inches. Plus I sanded the edges, which the factory didn't do. Wife is a happy camper now and I didn't have to go to the dealer.

Same here. I thought it might have been cut short to make sure the slide doesn't hit, but after seeing this post i assume its clear?

We added a wider board on top & works great with no slide in problem!

We just got back from camping and found one other benefit - no more popping sounds during the night. Never could locate the source.

Ours is fine on the sides... but the bottom stops 8 inches short of the mattress. We have the Denali 293RKS.

We just bought the 293RKS and are going to add a piece at the end of the bed, hinged so we can fold it under the mattress when the slide comes in. Will have small folding legs too. We added a 3 inch Costco mattress topper, and cut it to fit with an electric knife. Worked great and seems very comfortable. Will find out for sure next camping trip.

Bed

My big problem is when you buy a new camper... 5th wheel, and spend $$$$$$ you shouldn't have to fix the bed, it should be perfect!

EXACTLY!

The price we pay premium prices for second rate products. Just another way Thor increases the bottom line.
