My Kodiac is prewired for a backup camera with the Furrion FRCBRK-BL mounting bracket
Has anyone installed a different manufactures camera into this bracket?
Thanks
I installed a Garmin backup camera on my 2018 Kodiak Cub Furion mount.
I made and adapter plate to match screw holes.
I cut the plug off and crimped camera wires to the remaining cable. Nothing complected there. It is just 12 volts from running lights.
I had the premounted Furrion set up on a truck camper. Found a much cheaper off market camera that worked just fine. Took off the Furrion plate, made up a mounting plate and connected the wires. Worked just fine.
So unpredictable. I have a Voltage TH and didn’t realize it was prewired for a camera. I was expecting to have to cut and splice a connection and shocking the plug there connected directly to the after market “furrion compatible” camera I purchased. It has power all the time which makes it an “observation” camera as opposed to just a back-up camera.
I picked up one from Amazon. I dont really think it matters too much about the brand. Just find the best price, free shipping, and lots of reviews.
Buy that one.
Installation is simple enough. Just take your time.
I dont know if this is going to work.
