Tires

I have bought a new 5th wheel about a month ago, would like to put new tires on and get rid of the "China Bombs " . Goodyear endurance was my 1st choice but they are no where to be found around here. Carlisle was my 2nd choice as they are made in the USA. Any thoughts ? Thanks in advance

Tire Rack has installation partners that might be local. Also, Goodyear has a mobile installer system that didn't cover my location a year and a half ago but did about 6 months ago. You might check that too. Much easier than dealing with a big trailer and a crowded tire store.

Carlisle Tires
ŠImage Credit: Seika Chujo / Shutterstock.com
Carlisle is a US brand with manufacturing facilities in China. Its efforts have been focused on reducing costs. The result? The tires are substandard and have poor quality control. There are complaints of uneven and premature tire wear. They can burst even in normal weather conditions, making them very unsafe on the road.

Tires with Nylon cap ply over the steel are probably better than tires without. You will need to confirm by reading the tire sidewall as this information is not always included in the advertising or sales literature.
If they say 'Nylon" in addition to 2 ply of steel in the tread, then by law it has to be there.

Hi, I recently changed my tires on my 3970 Voltage about three weeks ago. I had my Chevy dealer put them on. The cost for six Goodyear Endurance was about $1650.00. The local CW was almost double the cost.

Hercules

Had 4 Hercules F rated tires installed on my 5th wheel in 2022 for $1028.43. Good tires. Good reputation.
