Texas State inspections

For those folks from Texas who are on this forum ...not sure if u are aware of this.

"All trailers weighing 4,500 lbs or more registered in Texas are required to have an annual safety inspection. Here's the chapter and verse from the Texas Department of Transportation

I'm not aware of what Texas requires, but in Louisiana, all trailers are required to have a annual state inspection. That said, of all the trailers I have owned, I've only had one inspected. I now own 4 trailers with a total of ZERO having a state inspection. I don't know of anyone having a privately owned trailer that has been inspected. I don't think the Law Officers care; or are just too busy to inforce the law. I've never been asked to see the inspection by anyone.
I do know this, if there would be a crack-down on utility trailer lights, inspection stickers, couplers, safety chains, tires and load hold-down straps, they'd take 90% of the trailers off the road.
