SofaBed Mattress is Horrible

We have company coming with us camping, so someone will be sleeping on the Hide_a_Bed. Not so comfy, can feel the bars through the mattress provided.
Measurements are 61 Wide and 69 1/2 Long.
Any ideas what to replace it with? I've done multiple searches and have not found a mattress with these measurements, and not wanting to spend Big Bucks on a custom made mattress.
Any Ideas welcome,

I'm sure someone has had the same problem

Hey Saskatchewan, I hope your staying dry.

The mattresses in the sofa beds in RVs are the most uncomfortable thing the has been invented. Most of the sofas now days use an air mattress, this probably is not an option for you, as the airbed sofas don't have the metal mesh, they have a cloth base for the mattress.

You could try cutting up a sheet of plywood to go down before the mattress, then you need to find a spot to store them when the sofa is made up.

Thank You, that would be a solution. We will have to try that or something out later this month while we visit beautiful BC for a few weeks.

We used to just put the air mattress right on top of the other one, and it was not that bad. At least you couldn't feel the springs.

I must agree that the bed mattress in the RV are the most unconformable thing on this earth.

The first upgrade we did was add a 3 or 4 inch gel memory foam
topper to our queen size bed. We enjoy sleeping on it much better
than our bed at the house.

We purchased it at Kohls when they were 50% off plus we had a 20%
coupon which mad it worth the $$.

I am not sure how you would do that with the fold out sofa as you need to put it on the bed once it pulls out. But I think you could store it under a storage area, etc.

Another option is to buy a high quality futon that will make into a bed and replace your couch with it. You can find them at Sam's club for around $500. Do a search on their website and see if it could be something that will work for you. I used one in my first 5th wheel for my daughter and she loved it.

That would be a great work around and you still have most of your storage space under the bed.
