So angry right now. Oops
I was told that the walls on my Denali are 3" thick. I asked Dutchman.
I was hanging my bedroom TV and had it setup so I would only drill 2" in.
Well my walls are 1.5" thick and I drilled through the other side.
So not sure what I should do and how I should fill the holes.

Fiberglass resin , fill the hole, wait for it to dry, sand it smooth and then find a touch up paint that is close to the same color

Duhhh???? Looking at a door or window would tell you the thickness... Use a little common sense.

Thx for that feedback. I did look at the doors and windows but with the frames it was hard to get an accurate measure.

Handyman, he wasn't asking you to fix it for him just asking how to fix his mistake, not cool

First rule... don't believe anything Dutchmen tells you! Second rule, VERIFY, VERIFY AND VERIFY!
As far as the repair, I would clean the edges up and use some epoxy repair and touch up paint. Don't feel too bad, I have seen a fiver sitting in the repair bay at a local CW where the so called professional installers did the same thing, but they used 3.5" screws and they were still sticking out the side of the unit. So much for their $149 an hour shop rate.

How many holes did you drill through and what size hole? If not to big of holes on the out side, you could also apply some silicone at the holes and put some screws in from outside to seal, and just paint screw heads to match. Could also do the same on inside. Just a thought.
Last fall I mounted a roof ladder to the back of my trailer, and also called Dutchmen for wall and stud info and got nowhere, they could not even give me the distance between studs. I used stud sensors (although they are not always accurate) I utilized window, outlet locations, etc.. My main concern was drilling for roof brackets. Can't emphasize how many times I measured and remeasured and just drilled with a very small drill bit size just in case. End of story, Job turned out great.

Mike, first off take a deep breath. There are far worse things like our moorage neighbor who thought the dbl hull on there sixty footer meant there was an airspace between. But he saved $375.00 by not having the maritime mechanics install the new transponder and drilled the 1-1/2" hole himself and found out the hard way what a 2" laminated dbl hull actually meant. Thankfully he did it during the week and the marina was open and he was able to get it to the sling hoist before it flooded the salon. $12,000.00 and two weeks later he got his yacht back.
Although our trailers are fiberglass, a gel coat repair kit will easily remedy your issue. I used one to repair a gouge I did on a previous coach after the dealer told me thats what they would use.

Hope this helps. Besides, you got a great story you'll look back on someday and laugh about.

OK...but a note to all of us. When you're not sure how thick the wall is, or what might be inside the wall. I drill until I just penetrate the inside paneling. Then use a piece of coat hanger, push it in the drilled hole and feel for what is in the wall and how far it is to the next paneling.
Just sayin'

Another thing one can do is go to the local hardware store and get one of those "buttons" that fills a drilled hole and has a head like a carriage bolt. Use 'em all the time.

Thx for the input guys. Maybe I will use a plug or screw of some sort. That way if I ever need a hole for a wire or something , I wont need to run another.

You never mentioned if it was an interior or exterior wall.
For exterior use jelcoat as mentioned.
For interior you can just use some patching spakle. Or hang a picture over it and no one will notice.

Mount a temp probe for indoor outdoor temp, or accent lighting. Just a thought.

Mike, I had a friend do the same thing, we just turned the bolts around and ran them from the outside in and just painted them before putting them in, looked good after, just place some wood in the inside, so the wall stays flat....Good luck
