Slide out wiring

Going to try and load a picture of what I am talking about. I need to replace the 4 foot long strap that has the wires on it with one end having a swivel. When the slide goes in it holds rhe wires and sort of folds rhem up. Then when you extend the slide it unfolds and let's the wires go out with it. My question is how to replace this as mine wants to fold the wrong way consequently when you retract the slide the piece folds up the wrong way and leaves the wires near or even touching the tires

Probably screwed up posting this but its a pic of the flexible strap that folds up and holds the wiring when you extend and retract the slide. If I replace it how do you run the wires through the holes on the flexible strap. Surely you don't have to disconnect wires,,,,, I hope !!!!

Maybe you can add something along the lines of a screen door spring to pull it in the direction you want it to fold.
From the photo, it sure looks like you would need to disconnect the wires to change it.

You can get them from LCI or E-Trailer, etc.

You may order replacement support assy on-line. Usually comes with aluminum bracket/stud.
Disconnect battery followed by wiring.
Disconnect support stud and flex support.
Plan on installing new screws on re-assembly. NOTE: route flex support in a direction that will fold up properly.
Reconnect wiring and battery. Check for proper operation.

Is the attached end cracked or broken? Mine were bolted to the frame and cracked so they didn't fold the correct way. I removed the cracked part and replaced with a stainless steel 2 1/2 door hinge and bolted the now free end to other half of the hinge positioned to swing the way you need it.

You may "Not" need to disconnect the wiring. If the cable supports are not broken, you should be able to slide them onto the new flexible strap. In other words, slide the new strap through the cable supports and then attach the ends to the supports.
Hope this helps!
