Security camera systems

Unfortunately I am a victim of a theft at my Travel Trailer in the Florida Keys. I am curious as to what security camera systems have been installed and the pros and cons of each?????? We are part time in the Keys and part time in Orlando. The rv stays in the Keys. All comments and help would be greatly appreciated.

I use NEXT cameras which are available at big box stores.
I can see the camera view on my phone and am alerted to any movement.

I am wondering what good a security camera system really is? We use security cameras at work and I use trail cameras at home. All they do is show the damage occurring. In the case of the ones at home I had great pictures of the perps in one of our barns. Big whoop, the sherriffs dept knew who they were, but they were already in jail on other charges more serious so they weren't going to bother with criminal trespass charges. Insurance wasn't worth filing with, they will just raise the rates and then drop you when it happens again.

Fortunately, I've never had a break-in. But the NEXT will immediately notify me of movement and I can view the camera at the same time. I can also talk to and listen to anyone nearby. So I could choose to scare them away or alert the officials and hopefully catch them in the act.

Locks, cameras, etc just keep honest people honest. They are a deterrent. We had almost $8K in mountain bikes stolen off the back of our camper last summer and yes they were locked up. Came out in the morning lock had been cut and all gone. For our situation (with bikes) I now lock them but also put a large tarp over them and secure it with bungie cords. So first, most won't even know whats under there (out of site out of mind) then if they do, they have to get the tarp off without making too much noise then cut the locks!
Theft sucks and its a giant pain. Thankfully our insurance stepped right in and handled it very fast. Good luck

The way I look at a break-in is: all new stuff!

That make me sick. Even I don't have high price bikes, this is one
reason I placed my bike "racks" in the dinette area of the dutchman. Just worried about folks steeling them.

I feel much better with my trailer on the side of our new home vs having to store if with prior home offsite. I worried often and would drive by to make sure no evil person was up to no good.
