Now, get a reservation when you want it. I'm glad I have a lifetime of experience and know the tricks... Main one being find out opening day for reservations and get up at midnight to make sure you get one being the most effective...

First time I was there with my parents in the 60's. They didn't have big trees then. Have NEVER seen it full. Do a search on Montezuma Canyon. Its one of those 30 mile drives down an Anazazi laden canyon few know about and not part of the "systems." And a good day trip from the campground. My dad used to drink beer with Edward Abbey and Moki Mac...
