RV cover

If I use an RV cover on my travel trailer, will this cause heat to be trapped in and damage the roof and will it cause condensation? Want something temporary until I can get an RV carport.

Will it take longer to get it under the carport than the RV sat at the factory and on the dealer's lot?

Good question. So does it really need to be covered? It is in partial shade 1/2 of the day.

I wouldn't worry about a cover if you are getting a carport within the next year or less. Covers are a PITA to put on and take off. I have a 2016 Coachmen motor home that isn't under cover yet. Carport was supposed to come last week but I was working out of town so they pushed it off a couple more weeks. As long as you check the roof sealant a couple of times a year and keep on top of the maintenance you should be fine, save the cover money for more important things like beer.

I have a toy hauler that has been in the sun in Arizona, Mexico and Oklahoma. It's a 2013 and all I do is keep the tree junk off of it, look at the caulking and watch for potential problem areas. I'm not that anal so I do it occasionally when the mood strikes me.

A cover would be nice but my feeling is they are not worth the cost and trouble. Covers for RVs, boats, motorcycles, spas and whatever else they build covers for don't last that long so more time and money is spent removing and replacing them than they are worth.

Being in the shade is a plus for sure.

This reminds me of one of my wives that complained she couldn't use the garage for her car. I was at a loss because her car sat at work for 50 hours a week in the Arizona sun and would actually sit in the garage less time than that.

I believe in dash mats however

i had a cover for my boat, that lasted about three years but protected the boat just fine. one thing I learned is that when the covers are wet, they are a handful, in addition to them being heavy, they don't store too easily. as a matter of fact, I don't think a cover will fit back in the box after you have used it, so where do you store it?

Not an expert. But I recently talked to a dealer I respected. He sells them. He said the biggest problem is that the covers tend to move from the wind and will start to wear out the finish/graphics on the RV in isolated places.
For what it is worth.
