First I get large plastic containers and vacuum storage bags. All bedding towels, etc. get bagged and sucked dry of air and stashed in the bins. All the games and anything that can make a pest bed also go in the bins. Damp rid containers go in, the refer is opened, cleaned, and doors propped open.

Anything that can freeze is removed. All openings underneath and along the sides is sealed with steel wool, and mothballs. Anything a rodent or bug can climb from the ground also gets mothballs. Since I store mine in the barn I can keep it plugged in so no worries about the battery, but I also make sure that the opening is sealed and mothballed as well.

I use the rodent proof expanding foam to seal all openings underneath that they can access and doesn't do anything such as around the water line drains, tank drains, etc, and inside where the water line comes in from the tank gets filled. Only have to do this once, but check them every year in case the seal works loose.
