Ok so… as the title says, it seems I may have a potential slideout controller issue on the horizon.
For reference… I have what Lippert (LCI) calls their “In-Wall Slide Out”, and it has the Schwintek system.
While dealing with issues with my Level-Up system (another thread)… on one of the occasions I found myself outside after sundown in the curbside basement compartment for the touchpad controller. And while there, I saw the glow of a flashing red light from the roof of the compartment. Getting out a mirror that I could extend in there, I found my slideout controller (I assume for the main slide) flashing green & red lights. Oh crap…
Now mind you, I haven’t had any slideout issues since getting the floor replaced this winter. It goes out… it comes in. A little noisy at times, but no stops, no sounding of popped gears, etc. But, it seems I have a code.
So I count the flashes: one green, followed by six red
According to the code chart in the manual (photo below)… this is a “Motor Short Circuit” issue. Great, another electrical issue. Except, my motor(s) still work. As I said, the slide operates normally.
So now I’m wondering, is this another case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’… or do I try to find a mobile tech, or get it into a shop to have them chase it down? I mean, I myself wouldn’t even know where to start.
I’m open for your thoughts, ideas, and opinions… feel free.
