I'm following this , I also have a Kodiak 2016 and the outside skin looks like Styrofoam from what can be seen in the access cutout for the fridge.
I was going to try a stud finder to mount a awning support above the door.
I would think both sides of a door or window would have studs and header wood or aluminum.
