Lube for Schwintek slides

Came across this video posted last month by LCI. Shows how to lube our Schwintek slides and what to lube them with.

Thanks for the link to the video, just ordered myself a few cans of CRC Power Lube Industrial High Performance Lubricant with PTFE!

It's my undertanding from video that you must do both inside and out. Anyone attempt to do this yet? Our kitchen slide is so long i dont see how one could get access to these areas from the inside. What am i missing?

While I see that they are promoting CRC Power Lube with PTFE, any dry lube with PTFE will work as well. Just make sure while choosing a dry lube it contains PTFE

Prior to January of this year Lippert/Dutchman was saying it wasn't necessary to lubricate those parts. They were extolling the abilities of the aircraft aluminum and associated parts of the slide system.

After so many slide failures it appears they have had a change of heart in this regard. The video is dated January 2014 so it is recent.

If Lippert/Dutchman suggested using Karo Maple Syrup to lubicate them I would follow their suggestion. After a slide failure and two months in the shop for repairs, and using a dry lube with silicone, I'll go with their suggestions.

I decided to go with TRI-FLOW Superior Lubricant, which has PTFE in it, has served me well, and is readily available.

I didn't find much improvement lubing according to the video but found great improvement giving the gib track a few squirts with TRI-FLOW. That's the track above the gear track. No longer does my main slide jerk when coming in.

Everything I ever saw said to use a dry lubricant but according to CRC Power Lube is a wet type.

03045 -- Power Lube® Industrial High Performance Lubricant w/PTFE, 11 Wt Oz

as opposed to the CRC Dry Lube with PTFE

03044 -- Dry PTFE Lube, 10 Wt Oz

I want to order some but Amazon wants as much for shipping as they do for the product. Is this what you all are paying for CRC Power Lube?

I order from Amazon all the time so I purchased the Amazon Prime option for $70 per year. This gives you free 2 day shipping on most products that have the prime logo next to them.

I paid $7.12 with no shipping charges. No 2 day shipping but I beleive that is due to the fact that it's a chemical and shipping changes.

7 bucks and change at Amazon and over ten bucks for shipping.

Thank the government for the high cost of shipping a can of pressurized lube in an aerosol spray. There probably is a built in hazardous materials charge in the shipping. The HM charge used to be listed separately from the shipping but customers went nuts when they saw they had to pay five bucks extra for a two ounce, two dollar tube of glue.

Now I feel really bad. I paid $14.85 for the product and $14.92 for 3-5 day shipping on Amazon. That's nealy $30 for one can. I'll have to search more diligently next time.

I just tried to order the $7.12 can and Amazon said they had 4 in stock but that it would ship between March 24 and April 2nd. I don't stay in one place over 7-10 days. So...I guess I'm stuck with $30 per can. Disappointing.

Hmm, mine says shipping between the 5th and the 7th.

But I ordered two days ago.

I had some in my Amazon cart last Monday and the delivery was to be the next Monday. Or seven days out. I canceled the order because I was unsure how it would ship.

I need it to come UPS to my address. If my street address is on the label and it goes US Mail it ends up at my PO Box and the PO returns it.

Amazon is Prime is worth the cost to me as I do most all of my shopping on Amazon. This was one of those exceptions.

I may still reorder it if one of your would tell me who the carrier was that delivered it.

I'm having mine delivered to the Habitat for Humanity office because of the UPS shipping. I do use General Delivery for most things, FedEx delivered a gas line to the PO yesterday for me and it wasn't SmartPost.
I get in a pickle when I need things delivered because I'm all over but usually I find some business that will accept my UPS packages. In Kentucky last year I used a cafe I frequented for UPS, they were glad to do it since I ate there.

There's always a way............
