Kodiak Cub - Sway Bar / Weight Distribution

Folks,

Just bought a 2021 Kodiak Cub 175 BH.

What are folks using for Sway Bar / Weight Distribution Hitches with this model?

I have used a Equal-i-zer Hitch with my past Trailer. Any better recommendations for the Kodiak Cub 175 BH, from personal experience.

Tow Vehicle is a 2018 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie.

Thank You

That's a light short unit. You Equalizer ought to do it unless it is overkill in terms of its rating or in effect too big. I used a Fastway E2 on my Aspen Trail version of that. The difference in price is about half of an equalizer with the difference being two points of friction (bars where they ride on the trailer brackets) vs the Equalizer's four with two points on the hitch itself. For that small a trailer, it will work fine. Yours will have the tortion bar suspension. That's never a bad thing...

Anderson WDH

My Cub came with very high tongue weight. It probably did not need sway control because of the high tongue weight. Gross trailer weight is spec'ed at 4400#. Tongue weight loaded for travel was 950#. Minimum 10% required would be 440# tongue weight. So, double weight needed for stability.

I bought an Anderson WDH with the TT. The WDH has built in friction clutch sway control. I have never had the slightest hint of sway. I had to modify the front "A" frame to reinforce the WDH mounting points for use with the Anderson.

I posted the mods in another post if you are interested.

I wish you good luck and happy trails ahead!
