Yo Westy! Get that Igloo thing at Walmart.

About $89.00
Stainless
Makes Ice FAST. Really, like right before your eyes fast.

I had a neighbor camper in Colorado that asked if I wanted any ice because he was "Making ice today". I said SURE.

About an hour or so later he handed me a 1 gallon freezer bag full of the coolest ice cubes.
Say what? How do you make that ice?

He schooled me. Now I have one of them in my 213RBDL ND.
And my freezer never is without ice any longer.

Yep! That's the one.

It's actually kinda cool to look through the little window and watch how it works.

This thing is like the weed eater. I'm not sure why it took so long to invent. (We landed on the moon first. Think about that) But now? Can't imagine life without either.

I got mine at Aldi's for $59.95.. they be all gone. Igloo from Sam's, HD is your best bet. LOVE it! I plug it up as soon as we back in, by the time I have finished hooking up the utilities I have enough ice for a proper G&T. Worst case I keep a small container in the freezer full of ice.

X 2 - We have the same one! It works great and keeps our adult beverages properly chilled

Does it keep the ice in the unit or do you need to transfer it to the freezer?

It fills that tray up in the icemaker and then you need to transfer it to another container. (freezer or ice chest or tea-glass?)

Once that internal tray fills up, the ice maker can't make more ice until you empty it. Once you have enough ice, you turn the ice maker off!

If you left it on and it had enough water to keep going, you would awake to 2 feet of ice throughout your RV. This thing spits ice out every 13 minutes.

I like it! Going shopping soon! Nice to NOT have to go to the store and buy a bag of ice for the little woman's diet coke.

It dumps into a little basket. That is where you scoop the ice from. Once the basket is full my shuts down. As the ice melts in the basket (slowly) the melt water runs back into the reservoir and it starts making ice again. Mine makes 9 cubes every 8 minutes, takes 6-8 full cycles to fill the basket up. We always dump at least one basket into a plastic tub in the freezer for back up.

9 cubes every 8 minutes... so do you have yours set for "small cubes"?
I assume since the difference between small and large is simply how long those 9 "fingers" sit in the water. The longer they sit, the bigger the ice cube becomes.

I never tried "small". So I'm thinking every 8 minutes for 9 cubes of small and 13 minutes for 9 cubes that are larger? Or do I have the timing wrong? Maybe I read the manual to get the 13 minute value? I'm notorious for doing so.

I make large cubes, I think I got the 8 minute number from the manual, but that is what I seem to recall when I timed it.

We keep 2 gallon freezer bags full as well in the freezer for trips out or when family stops by. This thing has been running 24X7. For 8 months and has never been turned off. [emoji12]

Only issue with them is the cubes are "wet" and if you put them in the freezer they have a tendency to turn into a block. I throw them on a towel and kind of dry them before putting them into the freezer. Problem solved.

Yes indeed.

I have found another method to address this............
Shortly after dumping the ice tray into the 1 gallon bag, the freezer FREEZES the wetness. So after being in the freezer for just a few minutes, I remove the bag and drop it on the counter top. This breaks up the "clump" before it can become permanent. Then the next time I remove the bag from the freezer I find each cube happily living its life as an individual cube. No commune living.

Yep, love my Igloo ice maker...

I'm one of those guys who almost always has a gals/mug of ice water nearby. So my ice maker and my 5-gal water dispenser are 2 of the best additions I've ever made to my RV.

Take my wallet! I think i'll shop for the best deal around here, not to keen on ordering anything with refrigerant in it so it can bounce around in a brown truck for 3 days.

Walmart is the stainless model in my town. $89.00

And you can inspect the BOX before you buy it.
I looked for a box that was standing upright.
I then kept it upright in the basket and the truck.
Then have kept in in the correct orientation ever since.
And had I had a problem, I could just drive right down there and fetch me another.

So I get it. I want my icemaker, Refrigerator, and Air conditioners purchased in person and local.
