No telling which way it was stacked during it's long boat ride...

Sure there is. We all know dang well that our little icemakers spent at least some part of their journey to our porch in the wrong orientation.

Well... Got an ice maker, but not what I wanted. Our local Walmart is so pitiful they don't stock ice makers, so I ventured up to the next "biggest" city. They have a Sams club that said they have the small igloo ice makers in stock, shock and awe, they don't. They had one about the size of a 50 qt cooler, which is ridiculous.

They had a small one made by Tramontina?? Never heard of them, I guess they make all sorts of cookware. Grabbed it for $89 and paid a healthy $9 for a 3 year extended warranty. It seems awesome, it's happily spitting large cubes out every 6 or 7 minutes. We shall see...

WestyBuddy, that IS the same ice maker!

In fact, although mine is branded "Igloo", there are plenty of reviews that state that if you have a warranty issue and call Igloo, they will tell you that isn't really them. It seems they licensed the name only. (There are varying opinions on the significance of that, of course. It IS a bit misleading to the consumer)

But you have what appears to me as the identical Ice Maker as many have spoken of here. So be HAPPY!!!!

Note: They did relocate the controls to the front of the unit, rather than on top, but that is the only cosmetic change. I think I like where yours are located since I keep this thing up on the high shelf behind the TV.

However, I think you over-paid about 5 bucks since you didn't get the bogus Igloo label.

Nice! I thought it looked very similar to the igloo. It seems to work well, I ran a full tank of water through it to clean everything out. The cubes were harder than I thought they would be. It will be tested big time this weekend when the family comes down for camping.

Checked... Mine is an Ambiano from Aldi's. Looks like the Della that WM sells for ~$89.

Works as advertised and comes with a 2 year warranty

Looks like I need to start drinking more. We use the two trays in freezer and do just fine. :-)

I guess if you're camping for 3 hours that's fine. My wife loves a good cosmo, it takes a lot of ice to make one of those bad boys. My sis-in-law loves martinis, my arms are gonna be sore.

We use ice for gin over. Couple of cubes and we are good to go. So get 3 drinks each per tray. Usually only one drink, then switch to wine with dinner. Beer sometimes on hot afternoons.

I like a beer on a hot afternoon. Also on a cold, mild and medium hot day.

We use ours for "sundowners" with our friends, dog likes to eat ice. We also make up large Tervis glasses of ice water to drink on during the day. We typically use about 3#-5# of ice a day. Buying the portable ice maker was a no brainer for us.

I brew up fresh tea pretty often. So the first few glasses of "Sweet Tea" are freshly brewed but hot liquid. (concentrated)
Melts the ice for proper dilution, thus requiring a second dose of ice for drinking.

I usually make enough to last 2 days. So day 2 uses less ice.

Another bonus with the icemaker is the completely adjustable shape of the bag of ice. Far more efficient use of the smaller RV freezer size.

Just bought one of those igloo Ice makers too from Walmart. Love It! Going to be a great addition. Only thing is I can't tell the difference between small and large Ice cubes. Maybe the Hole in the Ice Cube is smaller? Thought I saw saw two different size fingers in the machine.

I'm betting size is determined by time the fingers are dipped into the water.

I think there is only one set of 9 fingers. Ice is formed by the fingers freezing the water that is surrounding them. SO the longer they stay cold and submerged, the more water that freezes and attaches to the cube. Pretty clever!

Mine says not to use the small cube setting in warmer weather. The setting determines how long the fingers stay in the water. We run large all the time, it cycles about every 8 minutes or so.

We run ours on the inverter on the way to the campsite so there is no wait time for ice when we arrive at our destination.

I bought my first one from Home Depot. Worked about 3/4 times & then gave up. Took it back they gave me another & it lasted just about two years & gave up. As my home ice maker had failed it was used solid for over six months until the main fridge ice maker was fixed.
I installed a residential fridge in our MH so no more need for the little Igloo.
