I didn't do it but my mom ran their camper into the local dairy drive through. She said the guy was waving at her and she thought he was being friendly and waved back until she her the crunch. Insurance paid to repair it and the dairy overhang. She did again many months later because she forgot the camper was on. After that she didn't get to drive the camper so much.
As a graduate of U of O, I have to say this:

Go Duck Go! Go far away and don't come back.
The school should change their name to the University of Phil as Mr. Knight gets pretty much whatever he wants.

I was taught that there are no such thing as accidents, when humans are involved. There is always a cause and you wouldn't dare blame it on Mother Nature.

Rearend someone, no accident, not paying attention to the job at hand, driving.

Be one of the 11 morons that followed each other, one after another into the ditch, through the median or run into trucks in the brake check, no accident, not paying attention to the fact that you are driving on a mountain hwy, well signed warning of sudden and sever weather changes. And not Mother Natures fault.

Never had an accident with my camper, just bone headed mistakes.

I drove off and straighten the safety chain hooks out...(fogot to drop the trailer on to the ball)
Drove over my wheel chocks... had a relative bring them to the house later
I have had to replace the trailer to truck wiring more than once, after disconnecting the trailer and driving off. Did this with my work trailers a few times, got smart and put a connection box on the front of the trailer and kept a couple of pre-wired pigtails hanging in the shop.

I learned a long time ago, that even after nearly 40 years of towing and RV's that there is always some other way to screw it up.

and the list goes on and on and on and on....

West, really sorry to hear of your incident, it sounds like it will work out and you have some good folks working on it.

As a new guy to this trailering thing, I love hearing the war stories from the seasoned folks; not so I can laugh (even though I did , but because I know my time will come to be in the same situation. I dunno, the fact you guys can laugh makes me feel better and knowing we all screw up and I'm not the only one.

Don,

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?

You just got to get out of Ottawa more and relax.

Little update on my trailer situation.

The place I left it for repairs was able to get everything replaced except the A/C unit within the 2 week window I had between games. Unfortunately, the A/C unit was sourced out of Florida, and with the hurricane, became delayed, so they just patched that hole so I could use it that weekend, then I left it with them again after the weekend to finish the repairs, and store it for me until I go back up for another game (it was a good thing I'm going to so many games this season haha).

Really happy with their work, communication, etc. Insurance cut me a check after about a week, so that too was good! In all honesty, it has been kinda nice to just leave the trailer up there all season vs. pulling 6.5hrs each way all these visits. Kinda sorta worked out OK haha.

I'm heading back up tomorrow afternoon for the WSU vs Arizona game, then again the week after for the WSU vs CAL game, before I pull it back home and winterize it for the season. Hopefully my Cougs will maintain their winning streak, and Apple Cup this year should be one hell of a shoot out!

Great attitude. I suspect that makes a lot of difference.

Lemonade!
