Good Sam Travel Assist

Does anyone have any real life experience with the Good Sam Travel Assist, where they will fly you or your spouse home, drive your RV back, etc., if you are too ill to finish your trip? It's $79 a year so it's not a ton of money, however I fear that the fine print is such that you'll need a note from the heavens and still have to jump thru hoops before they'll pay out. Wife says it's peace of mind. Thoughts and personal experience?
Thanks
Rusty

Although we have not used the travel assist, we have used their roadside assist on a trip to Lake Powell. I had accidentally broken both sets of keys in my door lock and they were able to find me the only locksmith within 150 miles and he was able to drill the cylinder out for me and gained access to our travel trailer. Would not take any money, just a handshake and a thank you. Would not hesitate to renew our membership.

I have pretty much all their products, Club, Road Service, and even Insurance. No complaints. Just no experience or knowledge with the Travel Assist. For $79 if it makes the wife happy, it will be worth it.

We keep Travel Assist because it also works overseas. Such assistance like getting someone home from Europe would really be expensive. We're hoping to do some of that kind of travel, in addition to the RV.

We have it, but have never had to use it, and hope we never do. In addition to RV travel, we do a lot of motorcycle travel, mostly in the US, and some outside the US. The cost for emergency medical evacuation from GS is a fraction of what those policies would cost directly from one of the major providers. I suspect Good Sam uses one of those companies who specialize in this, and is able to negotiate deep discounts for directly marketing to a large audience, just like they do for their Roadside assistance plans. I wonder if anyone knows who the actual provider of the service, likely someone like Medjet Assist, Medex, Aerocare, etc.

I subscribed to Good Sam Travel Assist in September. Received a confirmation email with an order number. My credit card statement confirmed my payment. I called in October concerned that I had not received my membership info. They had no record of my transaction and no record of my Confirmation #. I called in November and "o yes your account was caught in a computer glitch. Your cards will be mailed within 48 hours". My on line Good Sam account confirmed this statement.
Called today....... back to square 1. NO record of my transaction. WT%#$@&. I like the idea of the insurance but certainly not this operation. I'm canceling the original transaction and have great trepidation about starting over wondering if I'll just be lost in the system again.
Has Anyone used this insurance and what were your results.

I had travel assist but did not renew it, most of our camping is local
We kept roadside assistance as that we may need. The RV insyrance is something we also kept ans the extended warranty too. (my cousin turned it down when he bought his, then needed it later and advised me to take it and keep it, as his problem required a new roof
and he paid out of pocket)
