Fan in ceiling

The fan has 4 speeds and the skylight or cover opens electronically, I have heard that if it's open and starts to rain it will close automatically, don't want to test it. Does anyone know if this is true ? And how would I know ?

I can only recommend looking in AMAZON or just searching google for the fan model # to see if it’s true.

I have one in the kitchen and Mine closes when it starts to rain. I also have one in the bathroom and it senses the humidity after a shower and refuses to open (since it thinks it’s raining)… I have to open it manually.

I put old style maxxair covers on them so they could be open when it’s raining but the covers on the fan hit the Maxxair covers when I turn on the fans. They make special covers now that work with the Maxxair fans so you can keep the fans running when it’s raining.

Mine is supposed to, but I haven’t tested it. You could spray some water up there and see. I’m to lazy to test it.
