Might not be able to get the mildew off the canvas, vinyl shouldn't be a problem. Try borax and hot water, the vinegar and water will just kill the odor. On the vinyl you might want to add a bit of bleach to the mix.
When we had ours I would wipe the ends down with a towel and spray the vinyl part with Lysol spray, if I had to put it up wet I would open it up and let it thoroughly dry when I got home. Wet tenting will kill a popup, I also ran a small dehumidifier or used DampRid inside when it was parked.
We had our big 2000 Coleman Niagara for about 10 years and it was still in like new condition when we sold it. Guy that bought it put a tarp over it and killed the ABS top.
That was the Achilles heel of that model. There is a popup forum called
Pop Up Explorer aka PUX where you can get some great specific pop up related information. But don't ignore us over here either.
I was on that board for quite a few years when we had ours. Great bunch of folks.
Several of us on here had popups at one time or another. The Coleman was actually my second one. My first was a bare bones Viking, IIRC it was a late 70's model, dragged that thing all up and down the East Coast behind a Volvo 144. Sold it to buy a sailboat, but the boat deal fell through then the kids came along.
