Extended Service Plan - US Warranty - Eagle Guardian

So I’ve owned my rig 5 years now, and the 60 month Good Sam extended service plan (ESP) that came with it has expired. And although I’m usually pretty handy with tools... since I now have limited mobility issues, I’ve been thinking it might be good to invest in another one. Some of you may remember me raising the question in an earlier thread.

So I’ve been getting quotes, and doing research.

Even though it didn’t cost me anything when I purchased the rig (price was negotiated first, and then the ESP got worked in a,one with a few other items)... on the contract, the price listed is $2,950 for 60 months with a $100 deductible.

Going back to Good Sam... the quote I received was outrageously high: over $3k for a TWELVE MONTH, $100 deductible plan... or $1,900 for a $200 deductible.

I understand it’s a used rig now, but.. WOW!

So I shopped & researched some more. Thought I had found a decent option with the Eagle Guardian plan from US Warranty. A tad expensive on the front end... but a 60 month $200 deductible plan for just under $5,000... and supposed to cover everything but the actual walls, floors, and roof of the rig. Sounds good, and they have an A+ rating by the BBB...but a certain complaint on them caught my eye. The complaint stated something about checking the exclusions pageant the actual contract, not the brochure. So I ask the dealer to send me a .pdf file of the contract to look over before I go in to sign & pay the next day... and boy, am I glad I did.

I’ve attached a photo of the Exclusions page below... and check out the wording. While they say they’ll cover virtually all parts of the RV... the way this thing is worded, they can deny any claim they want, and I’d have no recourse. Needless to say, i didn’t go thru with it.

Buyer beware!

I've never had any trust in any of the extended service plans had one once bought with new rig and they always have an excuse not to cover your problem
My solution is to take the money you would spend on it and put it away in a savings account and you have it there if or when you need it.
