Entrance Steps 2020 Aspen Trail 2750BHSWE

Our entrance steps are wicked, the lower step cants to the left when weight is applied so the left side sinks down about an inch or better more than the right side creating an undeveloped platform. Also if you are on the second step (say you are standing with both feet on the step) and handing something to someone on the inside and lean the least bit inward the step will fold up throwing you into the trailer. My wife fell on the last trip but thought she tripped or something, then while handing her one of our dogs I leaned forward and POP there I was with banged up shins and catching myself before falling into the trailer! She then said, “That’s what happened to me!” The dealer is concerned about this too! My statement was easier to replace or fix or talk to a lawyer when someone is hurt!
Anyone else seen this problem!

I had a similar experience; turned out that the weld on the one side of the stop had cracked causing the step to lean as you described.

You can confirm this is happening by having someone stand on the step while you look at the connection to the frame. Chances are you will visibly see the crack in the joint.

Either replace it or if you know someone that has a welder, ask them to weld it back together.

UPDATE:
Took to the dealer for warranty. New steps are on order along with a ceiling panel over the top bunk. My other issues were corrected and the grey tank volume and drain repaired. So far so good, now just have to wait until the parts arrive but can use in in the mean time.
