Dutchmen Astoria 2993RLF 5th Wheel Awnings

Our Astoria 2993RLF has two awnings. When they are both are out there is about and 18" gap which is almost over the stairs into the unit. When it's raining, the stairs become completely soaked and slippery. I see that other manufacturers with similar floor plans and 2 awning systems probably have the same issue. Has anyone "invented" a remedy for this.... short of going up on the roof and temporarily attaching a piece of tarp or other waterproof material to keep the rain off the steps??

It might be a pain to install, you could consider adding an over-the-door RV awning or put a new awning that covers the door. Be aware that when you open the door, it may hit the awning fabric.
