Care free awning

I have a care free on my 5ver. Well today a huge gust caught it and bent the arm on 1 side, I had tie downs on but 1 failed, so you know the end to this story. Question is I was told you can't buy parts, its everything including fabric or nothing, any suggestions, or knowledge of these

Incorrect... you can buy parts direct from Carefree all day long. IN fact, if you have the correct part number, sometimes you can even buy them off of Amazon for much less than the price quoted on the Carefree site.

So the first thing you need to do is identify the exact type of awning you have. By what you've described, it sounds like their Travel'R model. But the way you make sure is by looking for the tag either on the left side of the roller tube itself, or on the underside of the awning canopy. Should look something like this:

It'll have your Part Number... and your Serial Number.

Once you have that, go to the Replacement Parts page of the Carefree website:

https://www.e-carefree.com/ecarefree...vletController

Once there... enter your serial number in the box that I've circled in the screen shot below:

That will tell you what model awning you have. Then go over and click the Replacement Parts link that I've circled here:

After that, scroll down to the part your looking for (replacement arms)... click on that, then select the model of your awning..and finally whether you need the motor-side arm, or the idler-side arm.

Once you select that, you'll see their price for it (it won't be cheap). But that's ok.. click to put it in your cart anyway... then go look at the cart. From that screen, it will show you the PART NUMBER. From there, I highly recommend that you go over to Amazon (or Google), and enter that part number in the search box... and you should see that you can get it for a much lower price.

Case in point: When I had to replace mine, at the time, Carefree wanted around $1,200 for it. I ended up getting it on Amazon for $397, and delivery was FREE.

We have the same problem with our awning and we ordered the new arm but there is no instructions as to how to swap it out. It is the arm on the left, non powered. Can you explain how to replace the old bent arm? Thank you

Ok guys, I know you’re new…. but we can’t keep spoon-feeding this stuff to you. There are very few issues that haven’t been addressed by someone before… and in many cases, a simple internet search will provide what you need.

All you have to do is go to the manufacturer’s website like I just did… click on the Customer Support section… and then look for what you need. In this case, it was right there in the Product Library section:
