Best Automatic Satellite dish for the RV?

Hello everyone

Before I go and spend 500 plus dollars for an automatic Satellite , would love to hear some input, I was looking at the KING VQ4100- this will be for Direct TV Non HD.
Thanks for all the Input..

Best one is the winegard traveler. Full size dish and completely automatic. Full hd. Depending which service provider $1200 to $1500 for the unit

Well in that case you'll save $800 to $1000. I have two flat screen tv's in my voltage and enjoy hd. Another consideration is some complaints about loss of service during rain and cloudy weather with domes. I totally understand your concern with the cost of the traveler. It does work great with no real issues. Cheers!! Let us know how your new unit works

DirecTV has HD programming and even a limited amount of UHD content. DirecTV UHD is compatible with Samsung's 4X UHD TVs.

Satellite TV and satellite Internet can and will suffer from 'rain fade' and can be worse with the glass dome.

Directv has hd service but done antennas do not support HD with directv. Dish network will work with mini domes for HD

This is true, i was thinking the King VQ4100 which does not do HD- but only SD which is fine for boondocks camping - the dish is 500, unless i go to Dish network which seem stop be cheaper all around- 350 of VQ4500 and 50 for receiver and HD signal, but is lacking a few channels. I can go with either provider.

Perhaps not but I don't see why a domed system from DirecTV doesn't support HD. HD isn't made at the antenna or LNB but in the HD receiver proper.

If SKY and DISH can do it DirecTV should be able to do it also. With the exception of SKY the previously mentioned providers use the same LNB.

Domed mini domes do not support HD. Something about 3 different satellites that are required. I have checked thoroughly... Hopefully it will happen sooner than later

That is for directv dish network works in HD with mini domes. As far as expense my directv Bill went up by $13 per month. I can stop service like dish however there are no fees for stopping or starting.

I'm not familiar with the mini dome, is that smaller than a normal 18 inch domed system?

If it is smaller then I can see the difficulty because of the three or five LNB requirement plus the reconfiguration of the reflector (dish).
A 24 inch system might be able to manage HD content. That is if this size is available for the RV market. They could do it, remember the first transistor radios and brick cell phones?

In my case had directv at home and was able to add receivers for $6.50 per receiver per month. Dish is different although programming will include HD service with dish network

Thank you for your input I appreciate it. On a side note is see your using a Dodge 2500 for your voltage 3200, Im using a dodge 2500 bagged with my V3305, I was worried about the hitch weight but so far everything seems okay.

Best Automatic Satellite dish for the RV?

So far no problem. By November of this coming year I will have towed mine over 40,000 miles. I did change out rear springs and use air bags. I only use about 20 lbs of air in bags.

I have been trying to find the right amount of air , I was running 40 this last trip but I think it was too much. just keep adjusting until it feels right.
