Battery Removal on Shore Power

I need to take my battery out to have the local auto parts store load test it. Will there be any issues if I turn the battery disconnect to off, and remove the battery; while still on shore power? I don't want to damage the 120 to 12 converter and battery charger. Battery will likely be out for a few hours.

Worst case, I could pull shore power, then pull the battery.

Appreciate your thoughts.

I would pull shore power for the time the battery is out, just to be on the safe side. I know the older style converters didn't have to have a battery to operate, but with all the electronic stuff now, the battery acts like a filter to keep things running smoothly.

I agree with Aaron. Another thought, if you need to keep power on, is use just about any 12V battery in its place while you go. Lawn tractor, motorcycle, or battery from another car. Anything that will absorb the surge, as Aaron indicates.
