Hello, i am new to owning a camper and could use some help! I am wondering where my water is located at and what are some general maintenance stuff that i should do to keep the camper in good shape. And if there is anything to look out for besides leakes. I have some experience working on propane heaters, but i just wanna make sure there isnt anything special about camper heaters.

Congratulations on the camper. There are so many things to learn. Your best bet is to buy a beginning book on RV'ing. Also take it one step at a time and Google search or YouTube a specific topic one at time. For someone to give you a crash course would take hours. Owned RV's for 40 years and still learning. If you have a specific question, this is also a good place to start. Google first!

Good advice above. "How To" on UTube is helpful. Search for answers to your question. There are many sites that provide a little or a lot of information.

I have a 2018 Kodiak Cub. It came with a paper copy of a manual. For the most part it is an extremely general manual and could cover many Dutchmen TT's. You may find one that is more specific to your 5th wheel camper.

Things to look for in the manual are things like “How to winterize your plumbing system” and other general maintenance requirements. Temperatures below 32 deg. F will cause pumps, valves and pipes to break.

Batteries need maintenance. Helpful instruction in the manual may say “batteries must be maintained”. There may or may not be more detail. Searching for the answer to “How to maintain travel trailer batteries” will probably be much more helpful.

Given the time of year, you may wish to start with ‘How to winterize a travel trailer”. Next, move-on to other subjects.

Congratulations on your TT! Welcome to RV’ing and the forum. I’m new myself (6 months), but one of the over-arching themes I see in the forums is to look at your tires. Normally, you watch tread on passenger vehicle tires, but with RV tires, it’s the age and the make. Many recommendations here for Goodyear Endurance. I’ll be replacing my six-month old “China Bombs” (as they’re called) within the next 60 days.
