Space

Having come from the cruising/sailing world, I can't stand wasted space. The cabins of travel trailers are ripe with potential unused storage space. Its fun to find places to store the simplest of items and keep the clutter in an organized fashion, so you can find it when needed.

Anything that is constructed has construction dust and in the World of taking no more time than necessary to build something there is always dust and debris left to be cleaned up. The cleaning of these areas, during off season or when just wanting to piddle with the trailer, is a great way to find out where all the equipment and access to that equipment is located. This is also a great way to make sure there are no hidden openings or paths for rodents and bugs.

My theory is, if a wall or cabinet panel is put on with screws instead of stapled/glued in place, it is made to be removed. Removing the panel exposes areas for access, possible storage ideas and allows you to learn how to get around to all parts of your trailer. I'd rather learn how to find the water pump or manual bump out controls on my time, than when there is a problem and you have to figure out access.

Another way to use and control space, is to analyze what bugs you. Where do you keep the TV control? Ours was usually laying on the table and then had to be stored when we traveled. We were able to find simple very small black wire desk accessories at an office supply store, mounted these on the wall in the corner of the dinnette and now the tv controls, pencils, small flashlight and even a scratch pad of paper is always available and stays in the same place, whether at the campground, on the road or in storage in the back yard.
