Mike's Mods
My first mod I won't take credit for because I paid the dealer to install Direct TV. I like the way they cutout the shelve for the box, it wasn't going to fit inside the cabinet. A Trav'ler was going to be a little pricey for weekends so I went with a automatic roof mount with one box to all TV's and I added an RF remote off eBay.

Floor Register with Damper
Do you wonder why the bathroom gets so hot??? The vent from the furnace that feeds the duct system comes up from the basement directly under the bathroom floor register. I found this RV Designer Floor Register with damper off the shelve at an RV Supply. If you close the damper completely the bath still stays warm and the heat flows through the trailer more evenly.

Stainless Steel Screws in shower access
I picked this mod up off the forum. I should have taken a before photo, only had my trailer a month and the factory screws were already streaking rust.
PS You need to also replace the screws in the shower hose holder.

Be careful. I tried the same thing and it got so hot it melted the entire register. I thought about a metal one but was concerned with how hot it would get considering it sits on top of linoleum. We regulate the temp by leaving the door open.
Another concern other 3895 owners have is how hot the floor (under rug) gets between the fireplace and end of island. We identified during our PDI. Dealer explained it was due to the plenum lying next to the underneath side of floor. I.e way it was designed and couldnt do anything with it. We accepted it as a trade off to the floor plan.

You can get a metal grate with a damper that will fit. I've gotten them in Home Depot in the past. They are a bit darker brown, but won't melt.

Speaking from experience with a Voltage 3895 model you do not want to put a metal register in the bathroom to dampen airflow. It will get hot and melt flooring.

I did the same thing in our bath. The register they had in there was set-up to close off but it was removed. Noticed that in all the floor vents.

Yes i even tried an adjustable register in the duct thats 5 feet from the furnace and it still melted the damper shut. I'm tracking down the materials now to redo the ducting that goes to the bath. If i can re-direct some of the hot air before it gets to the bathroom i may be able to reduce temps enuf to install a damper. This will allow me to put a little more heat in the belly. Found a great site online that sells all the right materials.

After looking at how mine is plumbed I was thinking of moving the small feed that goes into the bedroom into the bath. Moving the larger bath feed into the bedroom.

Where is your 2" duct coming from? They scabbed mine off a 4" going into the main cabin plenum

What do you think of fabricating some type of flue cap that directs the hot air down the duct??? I've looked online but anything off the shelve is going to be too big to get through the opening in the floor.
They should have listed a sauna bath as one of the options on the 3895.

Mike, i pulled out fireplace yesterday to reveal great access to the back of the furnace and the ducting coming off it. With any luck i will have attached a picture that clearly shows the short 4" ducting that comes off top of furnace running to an aluminum plenum box mounted beneath the bathroom register. Its no wonder the register gets so hot! With right materials/connectors there are several options. I was thinking of splitting the 4" with a 2" tee and dump it in the belly.

Not sure i could stand the heat from my lovely bride on a move like that. At this point she is all for getting heat out of bath and bedroom. Works for me since im all for getting more heat in the belly in prep for Alaska adventure!!

That's the same as mine. Other option might be just to plug off that 2" going to the bedroom. Put a 4x2" tee in the bathroom feed & then go over to the bedroom with the 2". Or put a 4x4 tee from bath and run 4" into the bedroom.
