Dinette Trim pieces

I'm planning to put blackout drapes in the bunk windows of my Kodiak 276BHSL. I'll also be replacing the "door" drape for the bunks, making it two pieces instead of one (one for the upper, one for the lower bunk). I can sew, and it's pretty simple pieces/measurements.

Since I'll already be purchasing cloths for these drapes, I thought I would re-cover the trim over the dinette seating. It's old, and cheap, and starting to flake off. Has anyone ever done this? Taking out the cushions, it looks pretty simple, but I've never recovered furniture.

Any one have any thoughts, suggestions or tips?
