Carefree Eclipse upgrade

Not a Eclipse but a Travel'r on 5th wheels. Same but not all the bells & whistles.

Living out here in the desert for 44+ years the sun takes a toll on lots of things. Awning fabric is one of them. On my Teton 5th wheel my awning rolls up automatic into a metal guard that protects it from the sun. Carefree shows a Alumaguard which looks like what I have on the Teton. They also show a Uniguard. Has anyone done this? Did your awning come with this upgrade.? I have installed new fabric in standard roll up RV awnings in the past. These cover would just slide into the rail on the coach & then the fabric would slide into it.
Anyone do this upgrade? Not on my to do list but need to do it in the future or the sun will have it's way with my awning fabric.

You install the awning guard? Was reading on that also...
